Minerals
Minerals play a vital part in the proper functioning of the body. Minerals such as Calcium provide rigidity and strength to the skeletal system. Minerals also play major roles in enzyme systems, fluid balance and act with hormones, vitamins and other metabolic regulators.

While we have access to a full range of minerals (Calcium, Copper, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Potassium, Sodium and Zinc), only Calcium, Potassium and Sodium salts are available in these pack sizes.

Using Acidulants
When used to supplement the nutritional content, care should be taken to ensure the correct dose rate is used. Recommended calcium levels should take into account the final consumer of the product, such as products for infants and children versus elderly.
Calcium Carbonate is relatively insoluble and will not usually affect the mineral / protein balance in milk systems. However a thickening agent may be required to achieve good suspension of the mineral in beverage applications. Minerals such as potassium citrate and sodium citrate have good solubility and can be added to most systems without additional preparation.
Soluble minerals such as calcium citrate, potassium citrate and sodium citrate can react with gelling agents such as alginates, carrageenans and pectins.
